1417993 2016-03-23 21:15:00 What does the personal storage do with the room I gave it yesterday?

Now it wants more and more . It has over 11G personal storage, 4 . 2G free space right now and it's still yellow .

Oh yeah - it's Puppy/Slacko

1417994 2016-03-23 22:20:00 It is merely an indicator of the space your files etc take up.
It is useful if you have a frugal install, to track free space in the save sfs file.
I don't think it ever asks for more though....

1417995 2016-03-23 22:24:00 Is Frugal in Puppy Package Manager (PPM)? SurferJoe46 (51)
1417996 2016-03-23 23:38:00 No Joe
A frugal install is a type of installation of the OS.
When you install to a hard drive, Puppy can either do a full install, where it uses it's whole partition,
or it can install to a folder on the partition of another OS, without disturbing the other OS, this a frugal install.

It can also run from a USB flash drive or a live CD, a very clever little puppy it is.

1417999 2016-03-24 00:13:00 No frugal for you, Joe, full all the way.

The link in bevy121's post is a great place to start finding out about Puppy.

You could always consider a specialty music making distro like 64 studio
which is a paid for product I think
or a more general media distro like Ubuntustudio
http://ubuntustudio.org/
or AV linux
www.bandshed.net

These have the advantage of pre-emptive real-time kernels for lower latency
and are already fully armed with a multitude of music-making applications
most of which are able to be interconnected with the JACK audio server.

I'm not a musician, just aware of these things.
