| 578701 | 2007-08-09 09:41:00 | i found the realtek HD drivers for my laptop, off the realtek website so i downloaded the ones for kernel version 2.4.......(obviously im blindly clicking) hopefully those are it. I got them on my desktop i open the file and read the readme and.........HUH???? so linux doesnt have a double-click install exe thingy? wud be most appreciate if i could get some help, as its the only thing not installed :-) Cheers |

| 578702 | 2007-08-09 09:51:00 | Realtek HD? You dont need drivers, Linux comes with them all... Besides, the 2.4 kernel is _old_ as! Ubuntu's running a nice shiney new 2.6 kernel :) Specifically, is something not working? |

| 578703 | 2007-08-09 09:56:00 | *blushes bright red* yeah i can not get any sound, I installed ubuntu on an acer aspire 3681. im not sure what hasnt been installed but my wireless is work video etc everything but the sound. |
