| 577482 | 2007-08-07 04:04:00 | okay im trying to fix a friends Acer Power F1 desktop (p4 2.4 etc) and it boots fine and goes to the windows user selection screen but nothing on the rear motherboard ports work.... this includes usb ports, ps2 mouse and keyboard ports etc. so pretty much i have a computer that works but i just cant use it becaue i have no input. the keyboard lights dont come on during post and the keyboard does not work during post either. is the motherboard fried and do i need a new one or can i fix it? maybe a reflash with the bios (not sure how id do this if i have no keyboard support tho) anyone got some advice?? |

| 577483 | 2007-08-07 04:06:00 | Well do you get an error on POST which says " Keyboard error, Press F1 to continue" or something similar? If not then it may not be the rear panel. Have you tried a different keyboard/mouse? What kind of motherboard is it? |

| 577484 | 2007-08-07 04:19:00 | there is no error about the keyboard, as i said it boots like normal the windows user screen. i have tried different usb and ps2 devices and none work. i cant see any label or brand on the board but the cpu fan is labelled Foxxconn so maybe its a Foxxconn board. |

| 577486 | 2007-08-07 05:00:00 | Check in your BIOS that it is set to halt on keyboard errors. Some BIOS's can be configured to not stop on keyboard failure, check this. Also check in the BIOS to see if the USB devices etc. have been disabled. I doubt this very much but it is a possibility. |
