578297 2007-08-20 01:46:00 Forgot to give the team at Paradigm PCs (http://www.pp.co.nz/) a rap.

The guys I dealt with were Chris and to a lesser degree Mark. They both gave excellent service and the overall communication, help, enthusiasm and demeanor of Paradigm PCs (http://www.pp.co.nz/) could not be faulted by me.

So, if you're looking for parts or a new system, give Paradigm PCs (http://www.pp.co.nz/) a serious look. They'll not be as cheap as some, but neither will the service be as cheap as many.

578298 2007-08-20 02:08:00 Nice pix, Murray.

But as I've never been good at choosing adjectives for inanimate objects (starting with car engines), I'll just echo your phworrr!!!...

My neighbour's cat, however, had a question as he passed by:

"Can I really see four mice on that desk?"

Nope, two mice, a Logiteck MX Revolution & MX 400, one cellphone (beside twist ties), one mouse feeding station, a multi card reader, my goggle cleaning kit.

It's a pity I couldn't work our pusses into the composition somehow, they're right buggers to herd though.

578300 2007-08-20 05:18:00 Very sexy Murray.

Think I might have to get under the hood again soon to try and make mine a bit more tidy. Seeing your nice neat job has given me some ideas on improving things a bit.

578301 2007-08-20 06:00:00 Cripes, is there a reflection of me in all this shinny surfaces somewhere? Anywho, the machine isn't too bad either, which is what this thread is about after all Foxy

I have an admission, the financial controller wouldn't let me put the box together. She said I'd only spend all weekend fiddling and playing with it, when it had to be up and running by start of business on Monday. Plus, she didn't want me jeopardising warranties and such like. So, the nice guys at Pardigm put it together

I'll not be thwarted so easily though. I'm about to shut down and whip the CPU fan off. Later, I'll pull everything out and route the cables behind the motherboard tray..... erk!!! ourch!!! ..... she was blimmin well behind me when I typed that... yow!!!

578303 2007-08-20 11:02:00 Good to see the discipline's back in the hands of the financial controller - where it should be.

(Hope you shredded the price tickets in time? And don't forget to be first at the maibox on the day the credit card bill arrives.
Or did you take that stockingfull of cash from under the bed..?)

578304 2007-08-20 11:29:00 Laura, being the financial controller bestows certain powers on an individual, I'd like to add at this point that some people handle such powers with great ease and, further treat it as a natural, biological function not to be quibbled with by those that don't possess such lofty attributes, i.e. she handles all the bills, financial transactions and is the possessor of the key to uh-hum, pocket money and computer components and such like.

In a nutshell, the financial controller knows precisely how much everything in this household and the business costs and it is by dint of her magnificence and generosity and indeed, unrivaled beauty and unsurpassed intelligence that I have the great good fortune to own the machine we have been discussing. That and the fact that I'm bloody good at crawling on by belly and have absolutely no sense of shame. Did I say nutshell?

Greg, "Why?" Why!, can you not read? What quality about a computer do I hold dear, what have I written in bold? What do fans make besides a zephyr? Surely you're taking the piss?

Anywho, I've run it sans CPU fan, just the heatsink with pipes, with no great increase in heat produced, barely a flicker in fact. I've also run a CPU stressing utility for 40 minutes with the CPU temp not exceeding 44C, but averaging around 37C with the motherboard not getting over 26C, but averaging 25C. The one kinda important measurement I didn't take was ambient temp before I started, a guess would be 18-20C.

So I'm well pleased with that. However, it didn't make much diff to the noise, which I've tracked down to the 80mm front fan. I'll have a look at replacing that with the ex CPU 120mm fan.

578305 2007-08-20 11:49:00 Oboy, you're good!
Very good...

The bruised.scratched belly will heal soon.
The machine will last forever...

(Or until your next craving for speed & silence)

578306 2007-08-20 12:01:00 Greg, "Why?" Why!, can you not read? What quality about a computer do I hold dear, what have I written in bold? What do fans make besides a zephyr? Surely you're taking the piss? Not at all. it's just that, knowing you're not the sharpest knife in the drawer I wanted to question why you'd be dumb enough to remove the cooling from a new CPU. But now I gather you've got liquid cooling you want to install.

Y'see I didn't read all your previous posts, given the excess waffle over the course of what must be near a hundred posts harping on about the same old thing.

And now I see you're going to install the same fan back into the case, so your exercise was pretty pointless right from the start, considering that a new 120mm fan would've been a lot less bother and expense than an elaborate liquid cooling system.

Some people!
