578580 2007-08-09 18:16:00 Speed...be sure to tell him to run CCleaner after he gets everything installed to remove all the trails and crumbs from the installations...

No sense having that clutter all over the hdd and then letting it become part of the defragged files later on.

578581 2007-08-09 20:23:00 I will run CCleaner after I get everything up and running. Just need to find a way around burning the files to a DVD-R disc, heard they can be unreliable (and I need Nero to do it)

Might just get a 2gb flash drive off TM for $30. Save all the hassle of the discs.

They aren't always 100% reliable either you know... ;)

only the cheap ones aren't reliable. Spend an extra few $$$ and get a decent quality one, and treat it with a bit of care and you will be fine

578586 2007-08-10 05:08:00 Mine was cheap, nothing wrong with it.

I can boot from it and add programs to it.

Altho, I dont use it for backing things up thats what the partition is for.
