578560 2007-08-09 07:12:00 Yeah, but the pic is kinda small, but I assume that is it.

And I think someone said, can I download all those now and put them onto a disc? Or will that not work? Just thought it would eliminate something to do after the formating.

578561 2007-08-09 07:17:00 Well you could get Belarc (www.belarc.com)

That may tell u, what exactly is in it and what it is.

You can put the drivers on cd now, (you may or may not need all of them, it depends on whats actually on this laptop), but dont forget to finalise it tho.

I would say most of the files (if thats the right link) are exe files. So you wont have to unzip them.

578562 2007-08-09 07:24:00 Just did a Belarc scan thing...

I dont know what other info I'd need from that, I posted what I thought might be important..

578563 2007-08-09 07:32:00 And whats it say about the main network adapter, network drives isnt the network adapter, and the sound?

Does it say Sigmatel in device manager for the sound? Or in Belarc?

You could try downloading the video/LAN/Sound off that link you gave.

You'll soon find out if theyre the right ones after you format. They wont work if theyre the wrong ones.

578564 2007-08-09 07:47:00 SigmaTel C-Major Audio in Belarc.

Intel(R) PRO/100 VE Network Connection under Network Adapters under Device Manager (on my laptop, couldnt find it in Belarc)

So I should start with the 3 main ones from the link (sound, video, lan) and put them onto a disc, and then if I need more, just download once I get back and going. Is there a keyboard/mouse (I use a USB mouse anyway) driver so I can control the laptop when I get it going? Lol
--Wolf-- (128)
578565 2007-08-09 07:58:00 That looks like your laptop then.

Yup 5 drivers.

Get / install the chipset drivers first (AFTER you format), then the Lan/Sound/Audio/Video.

Once you install XP it SHOULD install mouse drivers, so you'll be able to use the mouse. But you should be able to download the Dell mouse and keypad drivers after, then install them too.

Depending on whether the laptop has wireless or bluetooth as well, these can be downloaded and installed later.

578566 2007-08-09 08:01:00 Er, for the Dells you can just stick in the Service Tag on their website and get the original configuration and drivers you will need. Actually they usually provided on a CD along with installers for PowerDVD etc.

I can see that your warranty ran out 26/6/2006 ;)

578567 2007-08-09 08:02:00 Sounds easy enough now, that is, until I look at the list.

I assume lan = network? Do I get all of the 10 networks? Pretty big ask (or maybe not if you know what you're doing) but what are the exact ones I need to get? I'll download them now and put them onto a disc.
--Wolf-- (128)
578568 2007-08-09 08:08:00 Lan = network, unless youve got whats listed on the site u dont need it.

What you posted

Intel(R) PRO/100 VE Network Connection is what you get. 1 MB.

If you havent got wireless or any of those minipc cards you dont need the driver.

Obviously you dont need the first one unless youre in Japan.

See what it says under wireless, whatever it says thats what you get.

578569 2007-08-09 08:12:00 I dont have any wireless/bluetooth.

So just that one / ten network driver....

All I can really find for sound/video etc (that seem to match what I have) is this

Intel - Driver
Applies to:
Graphics Video

Is that right or what?
