| 578437 | 2007-08-17 21:56:00 | So after having the shop install the system into a new case with a new power supply (ones without a known history of failure) it worked fine for a couple of hours before it died again. Now when I try to boot it begins to boot, the fans start, and 3 or 5 seconds later...it stops. Is it the motherboard? |

| 578439 | 2007-08-18 10:01:00 | I hope it's not the PSU; I just bought a new Raidmax 520........ I thought they were a good brand.... I've used heaps of the 520w's. Never had a problem. So after having the shop install the system into a new case with a new power supply (ones without a known history of failure) it worked fine for a couple of hours before it died again. You know I had a PC recently with continual similar problems. She bought it over here in the end and it ran just fine. Turned out to be her multi-power board. Have you eliminated external devices as the cause, like the UPS, power board, wall socket etc? |

When the system was built the Power LED light plug was installed in error and had earth plugged onto the reset connector. 2. Power switch was very sensitive and would shutdown just by walking past the PC. Fixed by changing the setting in Power Options in Control Panel to not shutdown when power button pressed. This also made it fail to start at times but the customer didn't want to pay for a new case unless they really had to and I haven't heard from them since. Both 1 & 2 will cause issues you have but both are very unlikely, 2 more so since the case has been changed. |

| 578443 | 2007-08-18 21:28:00 | This problem sounds very familiar to me. Also brought the 02 Case with Raidmax 500 PSU about 3 weeks ago. 1st PSU would only go when it felt like it, got replacement, even worse, no power at all. Decided to go for completely different make of PSU, the Antec Basiq which arrived this Friday, installed it and it ran straight away. Still going happily now. 2 lessons I've learnt- dont buy raidmax and you get what you pay for. The case is fine for me tho. | Clod (7853) | ||
| 578444 | 2007-08-18 22:23:00 | I should have clarified - the shop replaced the case and power supply with a different model - I'm certainly not going anywhere the O2 302 case again. I asked them to choose a reliable case for me, but they chose another Raidmax. It would seem very strange that the same problem was cropping up on the third power supply and second case model though? Have you eliminated external devices as the cause, like the UPS, power board, wall socket etc? I would be very suspicious (not to mention annoyed!) if the UPS couldn't provide a correct supply of power! |

Yeah my friend bought a 500Watt raidmax one 2 weeks ago - after 1 week one of the main electro caps decided to throw a fit with smoke coming out the end - lucky nothing else got fried! Got a replacement, hopefully the new one doesnt do the same thing ... :stare: Maybe the current shipment of raidmax PSUs are crap |

| 578446 | 2007-08-19 05:42:00 | My mum got a hell of a fright when the 2nd one died she had just powered on the machine and she claims she saw a spark or flame shoot out the back :D Both were 520 Raidmax p/s and my dealer confirmed that they had a dud batch. Replaced it with Coolermaster 450 no problem since. |
