577776 2007-08-07 22:27:00 Yup, installed. Now I am checking if my XP Pro is all right... Renmoo (66)
577777 2007-08-07 22:33:00 What is the first thing I should do when I have installed Ubuntu? (Can't get any dumber than this question!)

I mean, on Windows, I would probably create a checkpoint in System Restore, then install Firewall and other utilities.

Cheers and thanks all! :)

577778 2007-08-07 22:33:00 Doesnt matter too much if it is not LOL.
As long as it boots nothing else will be affected. Also note you will be able to see yr XP folders etc from Linux but Xp will not "see" Windows.

577779 2007-08-07 22:42:00 LOL... just because your backbone is made of tux! :p

Yeah, I realised that. The annoying thing is that I can't modify Windows files from Linux. I am trying to setup my Wireless Network now.

Cheers :)

577780 2007-08-07 22:56:00 One more question. Under www.nvidia.com which one should I download? My graphics card is nVidia GeForce Go 7600.

My laptop is AMD64

Cheers :)

577781 2007-08-07 23:34:00 Not sure on the graphics card but surely if yr desktop is working then the card has been detected ok. kjaada (253)
577782 2007-08-08 07:53:00 Yeah, indeed it has. However, it is running not at its native resolution (i.e. 1280 x 800). It doesn't really affect me anyway.

P.S. .gz = .exe in Windows?

Cheers :)
