578237 2007-08-08 11:56:00 Hi Murray_P

You are actually joking I suspect.
Good post though. :-)

You should really buy a MAC as it it does all things for all people.
:D
Macs are for people who don't actually want to do anything - except enjoy the whole Mac experience

Nope, not joking, you injure me gravely with your assertion that I may be jesting, when I am not in the habit of jesting or indeed any form of jocularity. Why would you think such a thing?

PS. I daren't let the financial controller see this post. It's taken all my not inconsiderable persuasive powers to convince her that this machine is essential to the smooth and efficient running of the business and I will definitely not be deriving any enjoyment whatsoever in the planning of, or construction of proposed business tool, no sirree, not me. :horrified

"not inconsiderable persuasive powers" indeed.
I'll bet you charmed the birds off the trees.

And I'll bet the financial controller didn't believe a word of it.
But she enjoyed listening to your reasons/excuses - and wondering what you'd come up with next...

578243 2007-08-08 13:20:00 Laura, yes, I suspect this wee machine is going to quite expensive, one way or another and, more likely the other as it is, after all, the finacial controller* we are dealing with here.

The financial controller is in no way related to or in any way comparable visually, aurally, nor by tactile or olfactory, senses nor by volume, mass nor ductility to the Fat Controller and, any person who wishes to suggest any such thing, alone or in combination thereof, does so at their own risk of extreme pain and/or death.

578244 2007-08-08 13:28:00 Too right one can never be too careful.

But most women have their bribe price...
just depends on how you play the cards.

Or, in this case, the banknotes.

Even financial controllers have things they like spending on...
Swaps can help.

578245 2007-08-08 13:29:00 Ok you lot, there have been 97 views of this fred and only 16 posts, of which we can discount the attempted casts and burly .

I can only put the lack of replies down to you being exceedingly slow readers, without including insults (apt though they may be) to the explanation behind the poor response to view ratio .

So, up yer games . I want to see some serious action in here when I check in the morning, later that is .
Murray P (44)
578246 2007-08-08 13:38:00 Yeah, it's going to have be swaps as she has the money side of things sewn up good and tight .

Still, I'll battle through, I'll conjure up visions of shiny new components while onerous duties are done . God, I'd better wear a sock in it, can't afford to let slip Asus, 4Gig of RAM or 22" wide screen at the moment of truth . Merde! I'd be deep in it then

Sweet dreams .
