| 577867 | 2007-08-08 16:33:00 | And if you do have WMP 11, then your only hope is to uninstall it and revert to an earlier version. Don't you just love MS and its upgrades!!! Remind me why I should upgrade (?) to Vista ? Been there, tried it, it won't work.... The problem that I think I found is one of the Hotfixes from M$ that you dnldd and now it sniffs to see what version you have of WMP...and it won't allow you to go anywhere except to WMP11..... I've been fighting this for a while, and the only thing I could do was download WMP10, save it to a floppy/cd and after getting XP and SP-2 installed, THEN add WMP10. If you wait till you have all the other updates, you'll get blocked again. M$ wants you to have WMP11 because Bill is sleeping with the MPAA and the RIAA and they are catering to him for some future system.... and he's letting them get their products protected by M$. I smell large rodents here and I don't see good coming outta this. There may be some monopoly getting a start here with the digitally-signed security and WDRMs and such. Stay tuned for further headlines. |
