578932 2007-08-10 04:26:00 So let me get this right-

your CPU needs to run cold and your HD needs to run hot, the happy medium is probably more like frying eggs on a hot tin roof when the wind is blowing.

578933 2007-08-10 04:43:00 35-45C isn't particularly hot, you'd probably be trying to get a drive running much cooler in a normal PC. Some drives tell lies about their temps anyway. PaulD (232)

yup, my cpu temperature sometimes tells lies also.
It reckoned that it was running at 127 degrees celsius? ***! it was running at between 0% - 2% and had been turned on for like 2 minutes. Restarted and it read 32.... so yea! random lol

578936 2007-08-11 10:01:00 Interesting - the bar graph indicates that 63% of hard drives last for more than 5 years !
