2007-08-12 07:09:00 | Are they introducing IMAP? IMAP lets you leave your mails on the webmail even after you download them. | bonkiebonks (7249) | |
2007-08-12 07:33:00 | It is interesting that you should mention IMAP as most US businesses have it but don't use it but Apple utilizes it on the Xserve and iPhone. ( I don't think Microsoft uses it or enables it with Exchange) | winmacguy (3367) | |
2007-08-12 08:39:00 | Your email account in OE / advanced tab. Down the bottom. Hi Speedy Sorry, cannot find anything in OE with email account with an advanced tab. In "tools" there is a drop down item entitled "Accounts", but that is not relevant it seems clear. In "tools/options/security" there is an advanced tab but that is not relevant. Despite spending a lot of time I cannot locate the spot you are outlining ! The version of OE that I am using is 6.00.2900.2180 Cannot think of anything else can do meantime (except maybe check for an update to OE) Misty

2007-08-12 09:03:00 | MY IE doesn't have an advanced tab either, or the option to leave a message on server. I am using only hotmail on it... possibly if you have a standard pop account (like your usual provider e-mail acct) it might show the option. The Help says you can do it with pop or imap accounts. | Shortcircuit (1666) | |
2007-08-12 09:11:00 | OE not IE.Most probably why you cant see it. It comes up under my Gmail account. In OE.

2007-08-12 09:18:00 | Oops, sorry Speedy- I was referring to OE (shows you how much I use it). I know Misty is sorted now, but just in case anyone else is looking 'leave a copy of message on server' is not an option with Hotmail.... at least on my OE, I've checked 'em all. | Shortcircuit (1666) | |
2007-08-13 09:05:00 | Oops, may be too successful !! Now I have a copy of each email on our PC (wired), our laptop (wireless), and the Xtra server. We could not keep up before and now have all these "extra" copies. Will probably never lose anything but may never fully get rid of anything. Thank goodness all the Spam now going direct to a folder on the Xtra server - that is a distinct plus !!!!!! Not asking for help (yet !) -- just a comment, or three.............. Misty :D  ;)
