2007-08-11 07:31:00 | This program I have on my computer froze and isn't responding. I keep clicking end process nothing worked. I hit end process tree and nothing worked. I hit end task and it didn't work. How do I get close a process that just won't close/end?

2007-08-11 10:55:00 | It could be a nasty app needing that process in which case it would do something like that or maybe a corrupted file stopping the process from stopping (what the?). Can you give us the name of the process and/or software that stopped and wouldn't end?

2007-08-11 21:27:00 | It's prolly also hiding in the System Restore....A process is running from an archive-type file? Can you explain how that works please?? Also, unless the person is removing the process and then rolling their system back using System Restore each time, you can hardly blame System Restore. MasturJeff, you can use the following program to see exactly what the process is doing - Process Explorer for Windows (www.microsoft.com) The name of the actual process, as already requested, will help us.

2007-08-12 00:00:00 | killall <app> Oh wait, wrong OS :o Try control-alt-delete once, which will bring up task manager and then go to processes. End task :)

Does this application rely on java or something (which could be making it freeze)? If it is java you may be able to fix it by clearing your java cache (in the java control panel). Do you have this problem with ANY other applications at all? |
