579316 2007-08-10 23:21:00 Ok, so I get up this morning and find that Trend PC-Cillin 2007 has detected 1 Microsoft vulnerability MS05-004. Apparently this relates to the dot Net Framework 1 and it's updates.

I un-installed and re-installed dot Net 1 and its SP but the vulnerability is still detected.

Two things...

How do I fix it?

Do I really need dot Net Framework 1 and 1.1? I already have versions 2 & 3.

Cheers

579317 2007-08-10 23:35:00 I think u need 1/1.1 even tho 2 is installed. Not v3. (I dont have v3 installed, and dont plan on getting it on dialup).

As some files that are in 2 arent in 1 or 1.1.

And some programs may still need whatever files that are in 1.1.

The only thing I found out was, when I uninstalled 1.1 a while ago, I couldnt reinstall the ATI drivers, (even tho v2 was installed).

XP wouldnt let me reinstall 1.1 (while 2 was installed). And things got worse, when I uninstalled v2, and tried to start all over again!

In the end I had to reformat, to fix it.

Whats the KB of 1.1 you installed?

As there was a later patch for it which removed the previous 3 patches. Same for v2.

This (www.microsoft.com)

Would have been the last patch for 1.1, which replaced the previous patches for 1.1.
