| 579286 | 2007-08-10 22:16:00 | A mate has purchased a new computer with Vista on it and finds AutoCad 2006 wont work. He checked with an AutoCad dealer and was told hed have to buy the latest version of AutoCad for the give away price of $7000!:waughh: Has anyone else struck this, or know of a work around? Sounds queer to me. |

After all, there is very little essential functions (or none at all) that Vista has and XP doesn't. To spend $7,000 just to get AutoCAD to work with Vista is hard to justify. |

Done that a few times for people who dont want to fork out for new Software because of Vista. That way you have the best ?:waughh: of both worlds. | wainuitech (129) | ||
| 579291 | 2007-08-11 06:28:00 | I like Vista but for $7000, even I'd go back to using XP. Dual booting might also be a very good option to consider if you have an XP disc. | beeswax34 (63) | ||
| 579292 | 2007-08-11 07:23:00 | Even if you dont have an XP disc, purchasing XP as OEM, with additional hardware is still a lot cheaper than $7000 | wainuitech (129) | ||
| 579293 | 2007-08-11 07:49:00 | Just an update on this one . It appears AutoCad 2006 wont work on Vistas XP simulation! :annoyed: It also appears that neither Microsoft or AutoCad care . :stare: AutoCad obviously see the BIG $$$$$$$$ for you to upgrade & Microsoft simply dont care . Great isnt it? In the meantime, hes set up his two computers with a Belkin Flip which to me seems awful similar to a KVM switch . So heres a warning, It would seem that Vista has many fish hooks as well as killing any programme it thinks may be pirated . A case of Guilty until proven Innocent, but that's the American way . |
