| 580481 | 2007-08-13 16:11:00 | I've decided to fix up my computer, but I've run into a problem. It appears I have misplaced the internal 3.5in drive bay that houses my SATA drive. I've sought after a replacement from Gateway (as my computer is a Gateway 5200s that I purchased a few years ago), but it appears that they are unable to provide one. Right now I currently have a lame 40gb ide drive in there, and I'm desperately wanting to switch back to SATA with a larger storage space. What are my options for going about this? I'd prefer a direct link up for the SATA and keeping it internal. I have a spare 5.25in bay that I don't use. support.gateway.com This is the tower that I use. Please help, and thanks in advance for your advice. |

| 580483 | 2007-08-13 16:41:00 | I should have emphasized my other problem. Currently, my hard drive is chained on the same IDE cable as my CD-ROM drive. My motherboard only supports the use of one IDE cable, as well, so it leaves my hard drive just kind of hanging down there. My hard drive isn't currently mounted on anything, and merely just freely rests ontop of my CD-ROM drive, in the empty 5.25in bay, due to the lack of length to the IDE cable. |

| 580488 | 2007-08-13 19:54:00 | crazypwny: start first by stating what country you live in, as I find it a little strange if you live in NZ that you don't recognize that name. Even I know of Dick Smith, but I live in the US. |
