580770 2007-08-14 09:31:00 Just get the Thermaltake 430w unit from DSE (www.dse.co.nz). It'll be more than adequate for your present needs and your upgrade. Greg (193)
580771 2007-08-14 09:37:00 Greg, a slight diversion, is that likely to be the Thermaltake PSU residing in the Soprano VB cases.

Pctek, Poos I tell ya, Poos.

580772 2007-08-14 10:20:00 Is 8000RPM normal? It is not uncommon for Speedfan to misreport the fan speeds... mine doesn't even detect them... yet I am not worried... PC hasn't crashed due to overheating

EDIT: I have a fan here (chipset) that will do 8000rpm... anyone need the sound of a plane taking off but can't afford the real thing?

580773 2007-08-14 11:46:00 Oh, did I mention that Enermax were Poos?

On what grounds???

Fishing grounds.

Mind, they don't register amongst the Silent PC Review's recommended PSUs, so they must be Poos, but then, neither does my particular model of Silverstone.

As an aside, if anyone wants to learn more about PSUs, the fundamentals, what they do, what's good and what's not so good and what you actually require to run your machine efficiently, have a gander at this: Warning, For Mature Audiences Only. Reading Age of 12+ Required (www.silentpcreview.com)

Particularly interesting is the current Intel ATX standard re 12v rails vs what happens in the real world, e.g. multi rails are usually just split off the 12v and not completely independent.

580775 2007-08-14 19:21:00 I would personally recommend an Enermax. I use one here, no problems whatsoever :) Myth (110)
