580624 2007-08-14 00:20:00 We have received some feedback on the PressF1 forums, saying that some threads tend to get out of hand, even after a specific question has been answered.

From now on, please refrain from adding your opinion to a thread where the original question has been answered. We are currently looking at the possibility of creating a 'resolved threads' part of the forums where users can browse/search resolved questions, but for now please keep these forums as tidy as possible.

Also, if you post a question that is not answered, please don't repost the same question as it will be deleted. For first time users, please do a quick search through the forums before posting a question; more often than not someone else would have already asked the question and had it answered.

Screw that. How much feedback did you get saying that?

Just G and his "oh no, they mock teh Dells?"

How big is the issue?

If I suggest that continued discussion after the issue is resolved adds worth does that count? You would then start a movement to generate continued discussion?

No?

If your keen on fixing stuff that aint broke perhaps you shoulkd be running for Government.

We have had a few comments from users, but more importantly this is something we have discussed at PC World as means to provide a continously enjoyable service here.

I won't be running for government, and this is not about fixing something that aint broke. It is about improving user experiences on the forums.

580629 2007-08-14 01:22:00 After 3 seconds of thought its obvious that it won't be enforacble unless you lock each thread when you have decided it has run its course.

Good luck with that, Happy reading.

580630 2007-08-14 01:33:00 this is merely a suggestion to users of PF1, a reminder not to spam posts making it easier for people to find answers.

Moderation will continue as usual, I won't be locking threads etc.

580631 2007-08-14 01:50:00 ive noticed when people ask about what to put in their computers debates start about amd vs intel, personally i dont get involved it turns into a personal riot >_>

something that would be useful is a database of all the answered questions into categories etc, i quite often just browse through and see answers to other peoples questions helps me learn more about fixing problems aye :2cents:

pressf1 is always the first place i go for anything i need to know in the electronic world of fun times high five xD lol .

If you are so concerned about improving user experiences on the forums then why haven't you fixed the forum clock? That is something that is actually broke .

I am sure that there are more people here who would appreciate having the correct time stamp on all posts than there are members who are annoyed with threads that tend to get out of hand even after a specific question has been answered .
