| 580358 | 2007-08-13 08:48:00 | I have been helping out a non-profit organisation for a number of years with maintaining their website, as well as assisting at events etc. I have been asked if it's possible to expand their website to include some sort of alumni page. Essentially what they want is something similar to a very basic version of Oldfriends - past attendees at their functions can add your contact details, keep them updated, and browse the contact details of others. The organisation is around 20 years old, so has a strong base of alumni who would be interested in keeping in touch. Does anyone have any recommendations for something like this? It needs to be able to run on a Linux webserver (with MYSQL backend), and preferably is able to be integrated into Wordpress - though this is not essential. I have looked online at several options, however I'd welcome any comments anyone has. They specifically did not want to just use Oldfriends or any of the other social-networking sites, so that is not an option here. | somebody (208) | ||

| 580360 | 2007-08-13 09:54:00 | Hi Somebody. May I please ask what is the link to the current site? Have you thought about using a Forum on the site you already mantain? "Old friends." is not bad but I have not recieved an Email from that for some time. Sorry I can not help you at the moment. At this time I am the web person for the Tokoroa Golf Club. Go to Google and type in "Tokoroa Golf" You may notice that we get at the top of the page that loads. Waiting now for some person to critise the site I look after. Made using Office 2003 version of Publisher. For all those out there that use notepad and pure HTML well carry on. |
