| 580061 | 2007-08-13 05:59:00 | This ones got me thinking - Customer has a Dell ( No comment lol) preinstalled with Vista Business with Office 2007 preinstalled. The damn passwords will not hold for either Outlook or Windows Mail. Tried all the fixes but nothings working. I posted a while back with this also Original post (pressf1.pcworld.co.nz) which I tried, but it didn't do any good. Whats strange is any password thats entered in any App, wont hold. It's looking like a bad install from Dell's image ? Any suggestions most welcome. PS: the one about throwing it out the window came to mind. The customer /myself shouldn't have to do a full reinstall on a Brand new never been rolled - bowled or ars******ed PC  |

| 580064 | 2007-08-13 06:50:00 | But it is a Dell :badpc: Send it back. Great advise here people! (sarcasm) Personally do not know, so wasn't going to post until i saw these comments. Could people try and keep the comments to a problem actually helpful? I would recommend ringing Dell, tell them of you problem and get them to help you solve it. Quote 2 may follow this discussion. |

Could people try and keep the comments to a problem actually helpful? Being that it is a Dell is bad enough but it has Vista on it as well! But seriously if it is brand new just run a factory restore on it. That's probably what Dell support would make you do anyway. One thing I just thought of...have you tried another user profile? |

| 580066 | 2007-08-13 07:03:00 | Exactly!! I know the standard reply from Dell, HP/Compaq is " run the reinstall and if it still plays up call us back" I know that Hopefully fixes any software related problems. I've done lotssssss of installs of XP over the years, and many Office 2007 since it came out - no worries. Yes to CYaBro - Made new user. That open window is looking about the right size for a PC!!  :badpc: DELL:badpc: |
