| 580895 | 2007-08-16 21:34:00 | Ok, so i have the case (gigabyte Poseidon - arriving soon)_ and i am going to order my PSU (most probably the whisper) very soon. So next is my motherboard. Now i'm probably getting a ASUS 8800GTS 320 (maybe the higher version) graphics card (or similar) so i need to make sure that my motherboard can handle that, im looking at spending around $300 on a motherboard. What do you guys think? Finding me a good one for my situation at http://www.ascent.co.nz/ would be helpful (or any other trusted NZ site) Cheers for all the help guys. MonolithNZ Are you going with the Core 2 Duo or the AMD AM2 CPU Moonolith? |

| 580901 | 2007-08-17 20:32:00 | The cheapest at Ascent is $463.68 (C2D Q6600). Basically it means that it has four processing cores, double what a dual core CPU has, just means for tasks that can use the four cores it will be a lot faster than a dual or single core CPU. |

Quad core = 4 die on a single CPU - This simply means that there are "4 processors on a CPU" . Duo core = 2 die on a single CPU . Cheers :) |
