"Oh, just obtained for free,"

Basssatarrd!

LOL, just did an order for some more SFF pc's and our supplier said they have a special 1Gb extra for each unit!. There's no way I'm putting 2Gb in each 'office' pc, so .........now, what to do with the odd Gb?

580886 2007-08-16 04:54:00 Yea, you are right. I will probably get the whisper...

Demon = i know, but i didn't want to wait 15 minutes :waughh: :badpc:

MonolithNZ, for PSU's, please read this recommendation (www.silentpcreview.com) list for quiet PSU's. You will require @ least 450w to perhaps 650 depending on the amount of drives, optical drives, fans, CPU o/c'ing, number and model of graphics cards. I have pointed you to this site as you will learn in time the benefits of quiet pc operation.

However the Corsair HX520 or the Silverstone OP650 olympia are both good models.

580887 2007-08-16 06:03:00 I am very good at operating a PC ( i take 4 different ICT classes) and i have completed the first semester of CISCO networking official course.

I just have limited knowledge on PC components.

Lol i know the benefits of a quiet PC.

I think im going to go with the Enermax EG565P-VE24P Whisper II, 535W ATX PSU.

It seems to be quite well priced for its specs.

What do you guys think of a ASUS EN8800GTS 320M???????

EDIT as for the benefits of a quiet PC, what are these? :illogical :p
I have my PC set to run all fans at max and it keeps everything really nice and cool on stock coolers yet everything is overclocked quite highly . . . Mmm 45°C temps on my GTS :D

Well, it depends whether you are required sit in from of your PC for long periods of time in your work .

A noisy environment can have quite insidious adverse affects on ones demeanour and general well being . Now that we have the namby pamby hug thy neighbour bit out of the way, why the F not . I can do without having my nerves being worn down by a roaring computer when you can do something about it* . Though I don't expect every gamer and overclocker to rush out and get quiet gear, when their primary aim is to get as much grunt without frying their rig .

* I have a wife that's way more efficient at that anyway . Besides, I find it hard enough to think as it is, without a blimmin machine screaming at me .

Mine sits here open on my desk and I don't even notice it... it is usually mased by the sound of music or games :D (and not loud I might add)

My work PC is quite... but then people are talking all around so they mask out...

580894 2007-08-16 21:19:00 Ok, so i have the case (gigabyte Poseidon - arriving soon)_ and i am going to order my PSU (most probably the whisper) very soon .

So next is my motherboard . Now i'm probably getting a ASUS 8800GTS 320 (maybe the higher version) graphics card (or similar) so i need to make sure that my motherboard can handle that, im looking at spending around $300 on a motherboard . What do you guys think?

Finding me a good one for my situation at http://www . ascent . co . nz/ would be helpful (or any other trusted NZ site)

Cheers for all the help guys .
