580797 2007-08-14 07:01:00 Hello everyone, I'd appreciate some help.
I have an iBook which I use at work. It connects to the work network via cable or wireless. At home I also have wireless and want to be able to connect to my own ISP. How do I do this? I've made attempts but none of them have worked. Thanks for your time.

580798 2007-08-14 07:06:00 have you checked for sharing with wireless devices in your system prefs? I use an Apple airport for my Mac at home. winmacguy (3367)

Since Im using an airport I just put the installer CD in and went from there.

580801 2007-08-14 07:22:00 Ok so it's not talking to my wireless router automatically - I haven't had any messages about wireless in range etc Rossini (12327)
580802 2007-08-14 07:23:00 I'll do a bit of investigating in preferences. Rossini (12327)
580803 2007-08-14 07:34:00 You may need to enable internet sharing. Normally Bonjour should take care of that if you need to find your wireless connection. winmacguy (3367)
580804 2007-08-14 07:34:00 First I tried clicking on the wireless symbol - top right. no luck.
Internet sharing is off because ' you have not selected a port'. I am a PC user and apple is like being on the moon!

580805 2007-08-14 07:47:00 When you said you had an iBook I just assumed you were a Mac user. In your system prefs click on Network >Location should be automatic and then select show network status winmacguy (3367)
580806 2007-08-14 07:53:00 Have you got an access point / router at home??

I take it, you've got a wireless network at home not wireless internet?

Are you on broadband / dialup Rossini?
