| 582572 | 2007-08-18 23:42:00 | Isp is xtra. used to be able to go to WebMail to clean out spam before calling it up on OE. It has been shut down for 24hrs whilst they loaded the title blurb. Now, when I try Webmail I have to fill in a requested Name & Password to get into Bubble. I don't want Yahoo anything. Is there a workaround to get WebMail only? Thanks. PJ:( |

| 582574 | 2007-08-18 23:47:00 | not really to get around back to webmail, when i press webmail.xtra.co.nz, it just goto the my old yahoo portal that i have long time ago!!! blah blah blah but honesty i just wonder what do they mean by having additional email address as they stated on the launch website. www.telecom.co.nz/launch, will they be actually be the mailbox of xtra.co.nz or is it going to be another yahoo.co.nz address??? do they actually allow us to have their own email address and their own unique password to access the additional email. i hope it is not those alias email address that we have a while back.... |

Rob Got an email from Xtra yesterday informing me about the "fantastic" new service they would be introducing called Xtra Bubble. Turns out it is simply a Yahoo portal with some Telecom/Xtra links. Since then I have had 21 spam emails. When I contacted them this morning they told me that in the process of "upgrading" their services they had had "some issues" with their spam filters which "should be fixed by about mid-day tommorrow. So much for progress! Rob |

| 582576 | 2007-08-18 23:57:00 | I also see a dramatic increase in Spam. Before, it stopped at Webmail. Now no WebMail, so spam comes straight thro. I need to stop it. I assume that if I subscribe to Bubble I will get back the xtra spam filters. So, What to do? First tell xtra I dont like it? Get Bubble & live with it? Get another Spam remover? Something that works in the background? I know there is Mailwasher but wasn't keen on it when I tied it way back. PJ:confused: |

| 582577 | 2007-08-19 00:41:00 | I think the best solution is to give up Xtra mail all together. Orcon give you a free email address for life and it is both Web and POP3. The Web interface is uncluttered. rarely get spam through my Orcon account |

I DO have a Lifetime free account at Orcon, but it is for a special purpose only. However if I do have to change ISPs then it will probably be with Orcon. PJ |

| 582579 | 2007-08-19 01:30:00 | Hell, I’m glad you guys are sharing the Spam load . :lol: I can’t get onto my Webmail, but can get through on POP3 using Outlook Express . PopTray is hard at work . :D I’m sure one could expect better from a company the size of Xtra . :rolleyes: |

| 582581 | 2007-08-19 02:25:00 | I don't know if I completely misunderstood Xtra's notice regarding their upgrade. I just assumed that after the upgrade we would be able to access mail via the webmail section, which I had been doing if I was on someone else's computer. The yahoo email that arrived this weekend was dated 17 July!!:confused: Beam me up Scotty. My understanding of the XtraYahooBubble was that it would provide a range of 'added extra' (excuse the pun) services. I keep my xtra email address completely apart from any other. I never signed into the Bubble. I will wait and see whether others find it advantageous!! I can already use both msn and yahoo voice calling, should I need them. I just wish the spam would stop!! |
