| 581942 | 2007-08-17 05:06:00 | A lady friend's laptop has lost the start button icon. Running Win98. Have told her toplace the cursor to the bottom of the screen to see if she has inadvertently Auto Hidden it without realising it. Is there any other way of bringing it back?. Thanks for any advice. Lurking. Ps. Have done a search of PF1 lost taskbars with no joy. lurks. |

Maybe it's a sign the laptop wants to be upgraded to XP, but not Vista, oh no, I've seen start buttons comit suicide on vista. Bam! Trojan straight to the 'S to the T to the A to the R to the T' ! Such a sad way to go. |

| 581948 | 2007-08-18 10:24:00 | Thanks guys, Choc. and Short gave her these two to start with, have not heard back. Everyone used to say XP was pathetic toooo! and now it's Vista turn. Daughter has our XP Pro lappy which only has the Start button at the bottom, which is how it was configured no doubt. Thanks. Lurks. |
