| 581822 | 2007-08-17 00:10:00 | Well thats the only way i can think if describing it, Winamp is pretty terrible for it, Quintessential not so bad, itunes and WMP9 no problem whatsoever I can't actual explain the noise, it's almost as if the same 20th of a second of the track repeats about 20 times in rapid succession Is there any way to stop this, as i stopped using winamp for a number of years because of it, and it seems to have just started up again Things i have tried Playing the affected track in a different program (track played fine) Seeing if i was running out of memory (only using about half of my ram) Any help would be appreciated |

| 581824 | 2007-08-17 00:53:00 | No it's not a new issue, i had it a few years ago so i ditched winamp and the problem dissapeared, started using winamp again a few months ago and then problem started up again this week, Quintessesntial also very very ocasionally does the same the thing, although i have only heard it do it once in the last few days But i have never had a real issue with quintessential It's just the error happened today (once) on Quintessential after I stopped using winamp (about 20 errors in 5minutes), but hasn't happened again on Quintessential System XP 2500+ Windows 2000 Ram 1.5Gb So i don't think it will be an issue with the system as such, because the other media players actually use more ram etc, it's just baffling as winamp will work fine for weeks then suddenly the errors just won't stop, no other media player i have behaves like that, i used quintessential for ages and on the rare ocasion things went loopy, restrting the program solved it |

| 581825 | 2007-08-17 01:22:00 | if it works fine for ages then perhaps plays up a bit....maybe just maybe it's a file fragmentation issue ?......... | drcspy (146) | ||
| 581826 | 2007-08-17 01:28:00 | if it works fine for ages then perhaps plays up a bit....maybe just maybe it's a file fragmentation issue ?......... Pretty unlikely as my system has a seperate drive for mp3s and it is regularly defragged. It's probably just one of those things, I just liked the uncluttered and vaguley intuitive interface of winamp whereas Quintessential does suffer from a case of makeing me have to think and hunt for things |
