581719 2007-08-16 14:30:00 Sounds like windows explorer.exe is not running. Run it and we'll go from there. Demonhunter gave me the same advise. malo (12639)

581726 2007-08-16 20:25:00 sweetbbyjen, have a bit of patience. Some one will help you when they can/if they can.

I have split out your posts from the thread you originally posted them in here (pressf1.pcworld.co.nz).

581727 2007-08-16 21:39:00 If you cant even get into safe mode with out it freezing then that may mean the PC is so full of bugs that you will have to take out the hard drive and plug it into another PC as a slave and run an antivirus through it.

It can also mean there is a hardware fault. One way to get a rough idea if its hardware is to locate a live Linux CD, or other bootable OS and see if the PC runs from that.If it does then its more than likely software.

You can also try setting the BIOS back to default.
Has the PC been overclocked by any chance?
