2007-08-20 06:48:00 | If you are getting spam from the Xtra POP3 server forward it to: spamreport@xtra.co.nz. Then they might start to act! Rob Does Abuse@Xtra.co.NZ not work?

2007-08-20 06:50:00 | lol yup, there must be like 100+, domains in my blacklist atm. If anyone wants the list, let me know. I'll save it as a txt file and well if it fits in a PM or email the txt file to you. All you have to do is open the txt file and copy and paste whats in it into the blacklist. Is xtra.co.nz one of them? That's where the spam came from!

2007-08-20 07:03:00 | : Oh and how about that nasty automated help desk assistant. :horrified - I'm pretty calm normally but I felt like shouting at 'her'. Seems they don't want to know about issues that aren't in the script! Ah well. Life goes on. Orcon sounds promising... or Actrix... or... I just keep making farting noises into the phone until the voice help thingy puts me through to a "human bean" (Maybe from the sub continent methinks) Ken

2007-08-20 07:09:00 | Actually the spam has increased. Mine is marked [spam]. So when I got pages instead of 1 or 2 there is defenately a problem at Xtra or Yahoo (I've had heaps more through Yahoo account). | JaceKiwi (2561) | |
2007-08-20 07:44:00 | Interesting . . . I got two calls in a row first thing this morning from people getting utterly confused about this XtraYahooBubble thing . Strangely, I've never received an email from Xtra about this myself, I must have fallen through the crack . Anyway, I jumped on xtramail . co . nz and it redirected me to the new bubble login screen . Like others have said earlier in this thread, I cannot get to my webmail until I register with the 'bubble' . So I filled in all the screens and for some reason I never got to the final screen where it shows the new pop3 . xtra . co . nz/send . xtra . co . nz . It just looped right back to the initial login screen again, did that to me a few times . And also a few of the screens were timing out all the time, I had to keep refreshing the page . I finally got to the final screen after a few more goes . I updated my Outlook Express settings with the new SSL ports etc and then I noticed the automated script in the bubble also added two more email accounts in my OE, one of it contains total gibberish . I sent myself some email and it never arrived either, and they didn't even show up in my web mail . Anyway, I used to divert all my xtra mail to my gmail box for spam filtering, so I went into the options and turned off the email forwarding and switched back to pop access . My email then worked fine, only the new ones I sent since the switch though, the previous test ones ended up in a black hole somewhere . The new web mail interface looks quite good though . It looks like a proper email client with right-click drop down menu etc . I guess they used AJAX to give that real application look and feel . P . S . Only received 3 spams marked with [bulk] since about 10am this morning, which didn't seem too bad . At the peak of my spam problem, I was getting over 3,000 in a week, but funnelling all emails through Gmail have reduced that to a small handful a day only .

2007-08-20 08:06:00 | Is xtra.co.nz one of them? That's where the spam came from! lol no, but that can be arranged :D Thats if theyre coming from Xtra, and not Yahoo. You could still blacklist the whole of Xtra, just remember if u have anyone from Xtra who sends you email, to add their email to the whitelist lol. Or else, you wont be TOO popular, if poptray deletes their emails as well. For the people who DO use poptray, do you want me to post the list of blacklisted domains, I have in here?? Hopefully, they'll fit :D

2007-08-20 08:22:00 | The new layout is a lot slower. The new layout (old if you have use Yahoo) is cluttered: Emails are only an inch high and a quarter of the screen width. Not like Xtramail.xtra.co.nz was.

2007-08-21 23:24:00 | With Xtra webmail I had a spam filter . When I "Lost" webmail I lost the spam filter . So I got heaps of spam, which fortunately was caught by Spamfighter . This morning when I opened OE, there was NO spam at all . I wonder if Xtra has somehow replaced the Spam filters . Any ideas??? PJ

2007-08-21 23:57:00 | With Xtra you had a Spam filter whether you used webmail or not. Webmail was the place where you could set what you wanted done with the spam. When they migrated you to Yahoo there was still a spam filter but one of the settings was defaulted to send all mail whether it was spam or not. Another choice was whether or not to mark spam as "Bulk". Maybe someone woke up and changed the default settings. Important: Don't assume that the Yahoo spam filter will treat your mail like the old Xtra one. You'll probably find a lot of valid mail in the Bulk folder.
