582522 2007-08-19 06:09:00 I think most programs are designed to rip the individual tracks and keep them that way since that is how most people like them. There are plenty of apps that you can pay for that will do what you want.
I know iTunes has a continuous track play feature - as opposed to individual tracks.

582523 2007-08-19 07:54:00 I would also suggest picking a better codec than mp3 to rip the tracks too. mp3 is only good because it is very universal not so much because of the quality. winmacguy (3367)
582524 2007-08-19 09:06:00 i used to use program for that exact same purpose, ripping continous mix cds to 1 single mp3.

audiograbber

if i remember correctly, the program would scan an inserted audio cd and then you can set and start and point, and then rip to whatever format required, eg wave or mp3.

cheers

582526 2007-08-19 10:11:00 Audacity, just add each track to the same file and export as mp3. rob_on_guitar (4196)
582527 2007-08-19 10:39:00 Of course, you can rip and then join and then export. It's just that I figured a real time recording would be easier to keep the original transitions between tracks. i.e. if you're encoding a pink Floyd album it would be tricky to get the transitions spot on. It's not that hard to set up the recording and sit back and actually listen to the music for a change. Then encode/export it as a single track. The export capabilities of Audacity are enormous.

582528 2007-08-19 22:41:00 EAC (http://www.exactaudiocopy.de/) is good for this. Of course it's not the fastest ripper out there, just more accurate :) autechre (266)
582529 2007-08-19 22:44:00 Also I find with some burning software you have the option to remove gaps but still keep the track numbers. Nero and ...I cant remember the name of the other one i use:o has this option rob_on_guitar (4196)
582530 2007-08-20 08:41:00 A bit slow but functional is the free CDEX ripper - which can do what you wan't in 1 step

exerpt from the FAQ Page :
Is it possible using CDex to merge several track into one single WAV/MP3 file?

What you can do is to to select several tracks, and hit the partial track copy, with this option you can select a range which is ripped/encoded into one big file.

I used to use it a lot, but these days use WMP because it's much quicker and easy to use and I'm impatient (flame away go on)
