| 582473 | 2007-08-19 16:50:00 | Okay, try this (not having the os cd makes things tricky, but you may have the necessary files on your hard drive already) www.updatexp.com I'm using XP Home, but I have an XP Pro disc. I probably did the wrong thing, but I typed "sfc /scannow" into the run box, when prompted for the os disc I inserted the Pro disc. It did a scan, when it finished it just closed. I tried the Search again but still the same, no window opened. I may be wrong but I thought the Pro disc would have the same files required as what the Home disc has, probably my naivety. Sorry to keep comming back to trouble you further, but is there any way I can search for all bmp files on my system without using the Wizard Search? like some software I can download that does this. Thanks again to all who've replyed, these Forums are a life saver .... |

Google Desktop Search (desktop.google.com) - Also free, and displays your search results in a similar manner to how google web page search results are displayed. |

XP Home product key normally wont work with XP Pro disc, you would need a legal XP pro key, as it would upgrade XP HM to XP Pro. Easier to beg,Steal ( NOT) or borrow a XP Home CD. |
