..... Can't send mail via xtra smpt server but getting mail via xtra pop server.
I have made no changes, using latest Thunderbird for mail.

My fault or telecom again?

Any advice appreciated.

Should be:

smtp.xtra.co.nz
pop3.xtra.co.nz

I'm assuming you made a typo here. should be smtp NOT smpt

Is it asking you to "log on" when you hit the send button?

Yes.. being asked to log in with password. But nothing after than works.

Xtra smtp servers is working fine for me (I just sent an e-mail & it went out fine) (Using Outlook Express)
