582504 2007-08-18 22:30:00 Hi
Running Vista Ultimate. Tried to instal Nero. Installation aborted because of an incompatibility issue. There are now two problems: 1 - a later Vista-compatible version fails to instal because it detects an earlier version which, it says, must be unintalled via Control Panel first; 2 - any attempt to uninstal, modify or repair the earlier installation is unsuccessful and it cannot be removed. Does anyone have any idea how we can resolve this? Many thanks.

582505 2007-08-18 22:43:00 Depending on what version/s are installed. 6 or 7.

Try the cleantools (www.nero.com)

For whatever version/s are installed.

You'll have to download 7.7.5.1 +, of Nero for it to be fully compatible with Vista.

582506 2007-08-18 22:59:00 Thanks, but how do I get to Clean Tools? The application doesn't run properly so it is not obvious to me. Sorry for my ignorance about this. Thanks. k8smum (6062)
582507 2007-08-18 23:19:00 So you can download them but they do nothing?

I dont know what u do in Vista if it isnt running, since I dont use Vista.

Someone using Vista will have to try it to see what needs to be done so it runs.

Or do u mean u cant download them?? You click on the link I posted.

When you get Nero uninstalled throw it down the ****house. That's the only place to put it where it can't stuff up your machine again.

582511 2007-08-19 20:24:00 Dont blame Nero .

They should have checked BEFORE they installed it, to see which version was compatible with Vista .
