A friend of mine has a problem with Windows Live Messenger - whenever she is in a conversation with someone (like me) and she types 'yes' or 'yeah' instead of the words coming up she instead gets a little round man which bobs up and down. This even happens when she types 'yesterday' etc. Neither of us can figure out how to turn the darn things off. Any suggestions? I think it's driving her a little batty.... Thanks Susan |

Each time she types that letter the nodding face will appear. She can either delete the emote or modify the shortcut. Or else she can also change her system so that no emoticons are allowed. To change her system so that no emotes are allowed, while she has her messenger window up..'Tools...Options...Messages...' and uncheck the 'show emoticons' section/s. To delete or modify an emoticon or a shortcut...'Tools...Emoticons'...scroll down until she sees the nodding face, click on it, then select either 'remove' or 'modify' and change the keyboard shortcut. |
