583251 2007-08-21 02:20:00 have found some links that might be helpful, or you can follow the advice i was given by a telecom staffer "change isp"

xtra settings
Incoming Server pop3.officemail.co.nz port 110
Outgoing Server smtp.officemail.co.nz port 587 with SMTP Authentication using your normal Mailbox login

this details how to setup a MS exchange smtp server to use a different port or authentication

no-ip.com/support/guides/email/quick_start_alternate_port_smtp.html

Before i get flamed here are some answers

for those that wonder why we use xtra, you have never spent two weeks trying to get another isp to get telecom to replace a dslam.

why do we use pop3 when we have exchange,
we are using a xtra wireless conection and cant get a fixed ip
customer does not want to pay for a fixed ip,
or a security reason:
customer is using a unsupprted MS exchange server and cant/wont upgrade
customer is using a router i did not feel happy pinholing or having a fixed ip.

Why not put this in one of the other threads about problems with Xtra.
