583029 2007-08-20 04:34:00 Just got a new E6750. Stock heatsink, voltage, etc.

CoreTemp and Everest registers both cores at 9-12 degrees. Wow.

Is that right?

583030 2007-08-20 04:54:00 Doesn't sounds quite right. Are you running the latest BIOS? Download TAT and see what it says about the temp. Pete O'Neil (6584)
583031 2007-08-20 05:09:00 What does the BIOS report?

Mine is quite often 13 at idle but hey, its cold here, you're warm.

583032 2007-08-20 06:37:00 BIOS reports at 14 degrees after idling for 20 minutes.

In Windows SpeedStep kicks in, lowering the multiplier to 6, and lowering the frequency to 2GHz. But even though, I expect a higher temp.

Ambient temp is about 20 degrees.

TAT registers 10 degrees for core 1, and 15 degrees for core 2.

583033 2007-08-20 06:55:00 UPDATE:

Overclocked it to 3.2GHz, with stock voltage of 1.075 and HSF - temp stays at around 18 degrees. Man this is nice. Or is it wrong?

583034 2007-08-20 07:04:00 Does seem rather cool... try physically touching the heatsink and see how warm/cool it is to the touch. You might have to stop the fan while you touch the heatsink. The_End_Of_Reality (334)

It's pretty cool. I can't feel any warmth at all.

583036 2007-08-20 07:26:00 Well, relax.

Panic only if it overheats...

583037 2007-08-20 07:34:00 Yeah, I guess it's a blessing.

Lovin my new CPU. :D
