582751 2007-08-19 04:56:00 Right, so firefox is hanging constantly and it's pi**ing me off and I'd like to know if it's possible to backup just the passwords and bookmarks in my firefox profile? I dont want the rest because I'm fairly confident something isnt right in the profile . A new install should do the job.
How do I go about this?

Cheers :)

582752 2007-08-19 05:20:00 If you want to see your passwords, try this:

1. Launch Firefox.
2. Go to Tools > Options
3. Click on the "Privacy" padlock icon
4. In older versions of Firefox, click on the + sign next to the words "Saved Passwords." In newer versions of Firefox, just click on the "Passwords" tab.
5. Click on the "View Saved Passwords" button.
6. Click on the "Show Passwords" button.
7. When Firefox asks you if you'd really like to show your passwords, click on the "Yes" button.
8. Wail and gnash your teeth.

For the bookmarks, try this:

C:\Documents and Settings\USER\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\XXX\bookmarks.html

.........where USER is your username and XXX is some directory which depends on something I don't know for a fact.

Yeah I use this. Do a whole profile backup or simply choose what you want to backup.
