583115 2007-08-20 09:47:00 OK this is easy for you guys but for some reason not for me. I want Windows Media Player to be my default medium for pictures and video but Nero keeps butting in,how do I set windows as the default ? Also the Nero 7 I have wont burn DVD+R but my old 6 one did. Why wont the newer version, it doesn't even recognise the +R Discs which is really why I want Media Player as default cos at least then I can play my old DVD+R disks. The player is the Asus1814BLT. Any ideas ? Clod (7853)

Change it under tools/options/filetypes in WMP.

Altho depending on what the DVD's are, WMP may need codecs to play them.

Just make sure you dont play too many different zoned DVD's, or else it'll lock it after so many zones.

Ummm did the version of Nero 7 come with the burner?? As an OEM version??

Or did V6 come with the burner?? Which by the sounds of it, it did.

It sounds like V6 of Nero came with the burner as an OEM version, which is why its working.

In Nero 7, if you run Nero and go to the Recorder menu / choose recorder, does the burner appear here?

And what version of Nero 7 is it?? 7.???? Is it OEM? retail?? Did u just download Nero 7?? and give it a serial??

So you've got the SATA version of the one I'm using.

I dont think WMP can open pics, just video and audio.

And I think, Nero 6 should be uninstalled, before Nero 7 is installed.

583117 2007-08-20 10:14:00 Hi Speedy,
Nero 7 came with the Asus so its the OEM version. The Nero 6 was "acquired"for my old computer and downloaded of the net. The 7 version is all thats been installed on the new comp with the Asus and it does show as the burner. I just cant figure out why they let 6 burn DVD+ but 7 cant.

583118 2007-08-20 10:22:00 Are we talking about Windows XP? Not Vista??

As if that version of Nero 7 isnt 7.7.5.1 or higher, it wont work with Vista.
