| 584403 | 2007-08-25 02:06:00 | REALLY very easy......vista has 'windows mail' which is essentially outlook express.....anyway on the old pc with OE just open OE then clik tools/options/maintenance/storefolder........then clik in there and drag to highlight the address thenn right clik/copy.....then open up 'my computer' and paste that address into the addy bar and tap enter.....that'll take you to the store folder where all your OE mails are stored in special .dbx files......just copy these to cd/flash drive whatever........then also you'll want your address book.....so open OE again clik file/export/address book other......then choose 'comma seperated values' and clik next etc then save the addy book to some location it'll appear as a .csv file which you can if you wish open in excell or other spreadsheeting program.....anyway once you have exported the addy book just copy that also to the cd/flash drive........ then startup the new puter and open windows mail......place the storage device with your .dbx and .csv files into the system if it's a cd you'll need to make a new folder on say the desktop and copy the stuff from the cd into that........if it's a flash drive you wont have to do that.......anyway once you have windows mail open clik file/import/messages/from a store folder/ and then browse to the folder your copied mssgs are in........ similarly when you want to restore the addy book clik file/import/address book/csv.......etc... |
