583975 2007-08-23 02:37:00 Hi,
i have a Sandisk Micro SD (512 mb) for my cellphone (motorola v360.) i turned on my phone today and went to listen to some music and it comes up "disk not formatted, want to format it now?" so i tryed it (i had done it before to fix it someother time) and it formatted. so i tryed to access my music and it just kept doing it over and over again no matter how many times i formated it. SO i said hmmmm... and plugged to into my computer, the computer picked it up as a removable disk like every other time but as soon as i click to go in to it, it says "disk unformatted, would you like to format it now." i went to format it and it runs though and get to the end and says "windows could not complete the format. i right clicked and went to properties and it says its a "RAW" file type (which i have never heard of!!) It was a FAT type when i got it and i have alot of pictures and songs would like to get off it. Is there anyway to fix it or any free software to get the stuff off it?

i am running windows xp home.

please help!!!:help: :badpc:

583977 2007-08-23 03:32:00 If you have formatted it then she has wiped your data, and you will need to hit it with some pretty heavy data recovery tools, Your chances look to be slim. Metla (12)
583978 2007-08-23 03:39:00 Yip, with the number of times you tried to format it that data will be long gone, there is an extremely slim chance of getting some back, but I don't like your chances. I'd also say the card itself is fubar too, if the phone and windows won't format it. Win some, lose some....lose some more.... wratterus (105)
583979 2007-08-23 03:40:00 well yea but i was wondering what a "RAW" drive was and how to change it back to a FAT so i can use it again, my stuff on there does not really matter to me that much anymore. password (5384)
583980 2007-08-23 06:31:00 Go to your "My Computer" and right click, open up Manage then Disk Management and see if it shows there (you will need the card in some reader port or whatever you use to sync the card) and it will tell you what type of file system it is.

Right click on the icon for the SD Micro and tell it to format..and chose either Fat or Fat32.

Let it do it's thing and you should have a nice new, formatted SD Micro to load up all over again.

583982 2007-08-25 00:20:00 I had the same thing happen to me that RAW format.

It was originally FAT, stuffed how I know how it got formatted to RAW.

All I did was put it in the sd slot in the printer here, then right mouse on it, in my computer, then selected FAT. It worked fine.

Have you got some kind of card reader connected to your computer??
