A certificate chain processed but terminated in a root certificate which is not trusted by the service provider" My client an (xtra customer) is getting this when using her Domain based email, (using Xtras smtp server send.xtra.co.nz) apparently sometimes it blocks the mails, sometimes it lets it through and other times it takes several attempts to send the email The problem has only happened since this weekends fiasco |

| 583704 | 2007-08-22 23:09:00 | For us, Xtra in their ultimate wisdom, have decided to rewrite the headers enroute and redirect all email to me instead of the intended recipient on our domain. So I am spending hours forwarding emails to people within our company. Spend over 3 hours on hold yesterday with Xtra. Got cut off twice. Finally got through to someone by calling the "new business" line. (Of course there's a cast of thousands waiting there.) After another hour on hold after that got through to someone (who I read the riot act to) who told me to email the headers to the Complex Solutions people. And after that nothing. And now this morning you can't even call them at all; there is a message saying they are busy and to call back later. Rather than waiting to have someone at Xtra fix their problem, the quicker solution is to move to another provider. I am doing this now. That's at least $5000 a month lost to Telecom. I hope a lot of other businesses do the same. |

A certificate chain processed but terminated in a root certificate which is not trusted by the service provider" I have a feeling this may be ssl related as i can actualy replicate this error by ticking the “This server requires an encrypted connection” box, which if I try to send mail gives me the aforementioned error, when i untick it the error goes away But according to the client the only thing that has been changed was the smtp server |

| 583706 | 2007-08-22 23:52:00 | One organisation I manage has Domain name and hosting with Openhost. ISP is Xtra. Have Exchange running with all out going messages forced to smtp.xtra.co.nz. Have opted out of port 25 filtering and have no issues. Just checked the server and no mail queues. Edit: not using SSL. |
