583912 2007-08-22 22:40:00 I used to have a neat little “Ping Utility” that showed a map of the world and a trace of the route taken to get to a Website Server.

Unfortunately, I can’t for the love of me think of what name it went by.

Anyone point me in the right direction?

583913 2007-08-23 00:29:00 I know the one you are referring to , I used it years ago.

The remember it was called something like VisualRoute (http://www.visualroute.com/) But this one is not free for the mapping side of things.

The other one was - but that was a few years back.

From what I see on the site that program while good, and plots the jumps in a graph doesn't show a map of the world.

I may be wrong of course.

[Quoted from above] showed a map of the world and a trace of the route taken to get to a Website Server.

583916 2007-08-23 00:51:00 Xtraceroute (www.dtek.chalmers.se) (aka xt) sounds like exactly what you are looking for. Erayd (23)
583917 2007-08-23 02:00:00 neotrace......not free tho I think drcspy (146)
583918 2007-08-23 04:33:00 Neotrace was the one I was thinking off .

I remember now it bit the dust when McAfee bought them out .

I’ll try Xtraceroute seeing I only use the programme once or twice a year .

Many thanks to all .

I have neotrace.exe here, dated July 2000, if you want it? It's about 800KB.

583921 2007-08-23 06:34:00 Ahhhhhhh, yes Bletch. I wondered what the hell was going on. :D I’ll keep it though as one day I might raise the enthusiasm to try Linux again. All previous attempts to use Linux have resulted in utter frustration. :D

I’ve downloaded the trial version of Neotrace Rumpty so that should work for 30 days by the look of it. I doubt the trial version is fully functional, but it should be near enough for what I want.

Thanks again guy’s.
