585041 2007-08-27 06:23:00 Hi all
Spent a bit of time on the phone today to my ISP as my emails to xtra customers dont seem to be going through. My ISP saya there is nothing wrong but when I sent them test emails they were very slow to arrive and they thought it was a fire wall problem, but my email went out faster with in on than not on. In the end the it chick said she didnt know what was wrong and that it was probably ok now. ........ yeah right

I havent been able to email my work for the last week and only just checked with other people I have sent emails to on xtra that they havent received mine either.
I knew that xtra had a big problem but how can that effect me sending emails to xtra clients?

My ISP is Telstra (I am with paradise)
Can anyone tell me what is wrong?

Meg

585042 2007-08-27 06:28:00 Your Xtra clients may be getting your mail filtered by the Yahoo/Xtra Spam filter. Being located in Australia now this filter can be a bit thick at times :)

Get them to check their "Bulk" folder in webmail. Once you mark such mail as "Not Spam" it seems to arrive OK.

585043 2007-08-27 06:31:00 try sending an email to yourself and see if you get it back or not. That way at least it will tell you if its an Xtra problem or some setting on your PC wainuitech (129)
585044 2007-08-27 06:38:00 You can test your ISP email delivery to Xtra addresses by sending an email to email@xtra.co.nz. If it is received ok by Xtra, you will get a return email from them. Jen (38)
585045 2007-08-27 06:39:00 Thanks guys
Yes, I can email myself and others on other ISPs no problem at all.
My boss is not going to check her bul email as it was too much hassle with the new sign up system.

Interestingly I did get this error message:
Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.

Subject: test from Megan
Sent: 27/08/2007 11:54 a.m.

The following recipient(s) cannot be reached:

*********@xtra.co.nz' on 27/08/2007 11:54 a.m.
501 #5.1.1 bad address **********@xtra.co.nz

and I know the address is valid, I was in the office today and double checked it and it has always been the same and I have had no problems with it in the past.
Just seems odd????

585046 2007-08-27 06:44:00 You can test your ISP email delivery to Xtra addresses by sending an email to email@xtra.co.nz. If it is received ok by Xtra, you will get a return email from them.

Thanks for that info.
Have just sent one and it hasnt come back.......yet

I was thinking it was my problem as my posts to my yahoo groups have started taking hours and even once 3 days to show. This has been happening for a month or longer so I figure it has nothing to do with this xtra problem?????

585048 2007-08-27 07:32:00 I tried sending an email over 10 mins ago to email@xtra.co.nz and it hasn't returned yet either.

Sounds like there is a delay in the email delivery process by Xtra. Nothing on their network status page.

585049 2007-08-27 07:58:00 I wasn't getting many emails after Xtra changed to the Xtra/Yahoo bubble. I went to my web mail and it was all there in the spam folder. As I don't usually get spam I turned the filter off, and now my emails are coming through fine. Grimy (3041)

Yes. Xtra is rubbish. They will be going into the spam folder.
And of course to go into webmail and check requires the new YahooCrapBubble.

Tell them to change ISPs. Its not you.
