584876 2007-08-26 20:20:00 Is there a way of sending a message to ALL of the names in the address book withour laboriously transcribing the lot. Peter Lankshear (12728)
584877 2007-08-26 20:39:00 Use BCC instead of TO, and just add each name that you want, in the one email.

Make sure you use BCC though, because then it shows as Undisclosed Recipients to them, rather than showing everyone each others email addresses.

584878 2007-08-26 20:39:00 Create a new group instead, and add whoever to it.

Thats if youre talking about OE.

Then, all you have to do after, is select the group, when you go to send the email, and it'll go to all of them at once.

584879 2007-08-26 20:44:00 Just be careful as to how many you send to at once, some of the ISP's spam filters block large mail outs, & detect them as spam, even though are not.

Not to sure the actual number but I think its some where around 50 -70 people at once.If they wont send this is why.

584880 2007-08-26 21:39:00 When you go to add an address from your address book add your own address or whatever default you want, then simply click on the first one and hold the Shift key then click on the last one. Or if they're not in order hold the Ctrl key and click on each one as required. Then select BCC for them all.

This is for Mozilla based email clients, but should work with others.

584881 2007-08-26 22:28:00 You may find some mail servers will bounce the email if there is no addressee in the "To:" field. I get around this by putting a Gmail address (effectively a throwaway address, because I never access it) that I own in this field. johcar (6283)
