| 584700 | 2007-08-26 02:02:00 | Hi I currently run Windows XP SP2, and the other day my second hard drive dropped off my computer, When i rebooted my PC, BIOS notices it and detects it, so went into device manager and re-scanned for hardware changes and windows found it again, but upon reboot, it forgets that the thing was ever there, I have to keep manually re-scanning for hardware changes, I have recently install a FX5600 graphics card to the pc would this be causing the problem? Confused, because if it was, why can windows find it after a little push along from me, oh yea its a Segate ST340061A 40Gb hard drive Any thoughs would be helpful |

If unsure of how to enter BIOS, look carefully at the start up and it normally says what key to press, "delete" for example will get you in most MB's. What Mother board do you have, or is it a name brand PC? |
