| 584606 | 2007-08-25 22:02:00 | I have a problem with my USB connections that is caused by my canon printer, Its connected via USB and when it's on the flash drive drops out - then reconnects then drops out etc. It happens on my windows XP laptop, my windows 2000 Desktop and with various flash drives. My printer is a ip3000 but it also happens with a ip4200 (on my brother's computer, his Seagate Agent drops out) Does any else have the problem, know of an answer or can point me to another thread about this problem? The work round is to not use a USB drive while using the printer but this get annoying at times and printing from a USB drive is a chore. |

| 584613 | 2007-08-26 02:19:00 | The impression I get is that the Canon is dragging to much power, hence other items drop off or insufficient power available. Is the POWER section on the following any help? en.wikipedia.org |

| 584614 | 2007-08-26 08:17:00 | Are the USB drives the same brand? Nope. what speed USB? 1.1 on my desktop 2.0 on the laptop and 1.1 I think on my brothers PC The impression I get is that the Canon is dragging to much power, hence other items drop off or insufficient power available. Is the POWER section on the following any help? en.wikipedia.org My thoughts to start with but when 3 PC do it on 2 different canon printers I'm not sure (although the 2 canons may have similar innards with respect to the USB port) I'll check the current when I can (i'll need to wreck a USB lead) |
