585090 2007-08-27 10:12:00 I am visiting the UK and using a Dell Celeron system with XP and Internet Explorer 7 Version 7.0.5730.11. and uses BT Internet Broadband.
IE has suddenly stopped connecting to the Internet, but connection is ok using BT Yahoo Broadband.
I have downloaded IE and replaced the original to no effect. I have also run ccleaner and spybot. IE won't find any sites.
Any suggestions please?
Thanks Guys,

585091 2007-08-27 10:41:00 Have you tried using another browser like Firefox or Opera just for testing purposes? And can you check in IE if the connection/network settings and see if you can manually "Setup an internet connection" in Tools -> Internet options -> Connections. beeswax34 (63)

omg - that was sooo helpful! lol never thought that that would be the solution! :illogical ( /sarcasm)

Have you had your laptop connect to the internet since you have been in the UK? or has it only been since you got there?
Have you changed your IPS/hotel-wireless - internet source?
You may also want to check your proxy settings and make sure you aren't trying to surf via an invalid proxy or something similar.

As already mentioned - do you have the same problem with other browsers?

ok, so the guy has a problem.

If you read carefully you can see he wasnt asking for a solution!
Although he doesn't specifically state "I need a solution" i think that most of us can see that he has a problem that he needs solving and has posted it here in the hope of getting an answer. not just "sounds interesting" or "because you didn't say that you want a solution we shan't give you one"

Gosh!
I wish people would only post info that they thought would actually help.

585096 2007-08-28 08:05:00 Mozilla wouldn't find sites either,BUT, for your information I found that the problem was caused by Zone Alarm. I took it off and IE and Mozilla worked. I put it back on and they still worked. This was my son's tower computer, not a lap top.
Thanks for answering, Back to good old New Zealand soon! You don't know how lucky you are!
