584509 2007-08-25 07:03:00 I am looking at either buying 2 samsung 22" 225BW monitors or buying 1 samsung 24" 245B monitor. I usually have 4 to 5 programmes running and find it a hassle having to switch program to view on my current 19". No demand for high graphics though, just normal office work. Which is a better solution - 1 or 2 monitors. Am running a Pentium D so should be able to handle 2 monitors if this is a better solution. Any suggestions? Thanks. ephesus (2509)

I personally would get 2 22" monitors... you will get more over all screen area provided the GFX card supports dual monitors.

584512 2007-08-25 11:52:00 Yes the graphics card does support 2 monitors - 2 DVI. Its a GeForce 6600GT 256mb. Is is necessary to have any specialised software? ephesus (2509)

584514 2007-08-25 12:16:00 Just been reading a bit about 22" monitors. Can I actually get more page space on a 22" versus a 20" or a 19". Some reviews say that 22" has the same page space as a 20" - I am confuse. ephesus (2509)
584515 2007-08-25 12:32:00 Provide links if it is on the net... The_End_Of_Reality (334)
584516 2007-08-25 13:55:00 2 22 inchers definitely! Your GFX card can handle it so why not??? I'm pretty sure that a 22" has more page space than a 19" or 20". Kind of like asking if A4 and A3 are the same size. beeswax34 (63)
584517 2007-08-25 22:17:00 Consider the vertical resolution of a 20" wide screen vs a 20" conventional style, it is frequently a surprise. R2x1 (4628)

I use 2 monitors at work here (i13.photobucket.com) on a little 7300LE, however i use ultramon (www.realtimesoft.com) as well.

It gives you better control of your apps on the monitors, quick moving to other monitor, task bar etc, wallpaper and screen savers controls also.
