586213 2007-08-30 05:20:00 Here at work we have upgraded a group of secretaries to 2007 (so they can get familiar with it before giving it to the lawyers!).

However, we seem to have hit a problem with categories. What is happening is when Person A views Person B's (who is on 2003) contacts (which they have permissions to do), Person A can view the list by Person B's categories which is great but Person A can't assign contacts to a different category within Person B's list - they simply don't come up as an option. Is there a way to migrate them over? Basically we need the ability for Person A to select all of Person B's contacts who are in XYZ category and 'group remove' them from that category, or add a whole bunch to a category on Person B's list. I've tried entering the category ABC into Person A's list but it doesn't work :(

Anyone else had this issue? Am I going to have to downgrade all my Outlook 2007 users back to 2003?!!

(I hope all that Person A Person B business isn't too confusing!)

"It (copying master category list) worked by dragging an appointment with all our categories selected to the desktop and zipping it. Attach it to a mail and send it to a receiver that doesn't have the categories in her or his Outlook 2007. Then unzip the appointment and drag it to the receiver's calendar. You may need to right click on the root folder (Outlook Today), choose Properties and click the button to Upgrade to colour categories"
