| 586083 | 2007-08-29 20:34:00 | How does XP decide which core to use for which program? I have five drives spread over three disks. I want one program to have exclusive use of one core, and everything else in the second core. Is there any way to set this up? cpu , intel extreme x6800 |

| 586088 | 2007-08-30 11:39:00 | I have a dual-core cpu and i rarely notice any difference when changing the affinities. The main (and pretty much only) time i do notice, is when i am running virtual machines, and assign 1 core per virtual machine. Other than that i havn't noticed a difference. Most applications out there today are still only written for single core cpu's so we won't start seeing the real advantage of dual/quad core cpu's until software developers (myself included lol) start developing for multi-core cpu's. |
