585762 2007-08-29 00:04:00 Well, it depends on what u want to do with it, (do you want to play games on it, or just browsing / or using word etc), and how much you want to spend.

And whether you want a desktop since u said computer, or a laptop.

Here (www.pcpacific.net) are some options that you can have a look at.
Take note about the operating system though, some of the cheaper ones do not have the price of the operating system built in.

Do you have a preference for a brand new or 2nd hand computer? (Trademe!)
2nd hand would work out cheaper (usually) but often doesn't come with any form of warranty - which can be risky.

Also, do you feel strongly towards a laptop or desktop? or just whatever comes up that looks nice?

Had you noticed in the link you posted this disclaimer?
(Picture shown may vary from actual products)

Now if I get shown a picture of a Ferrari and end up with Bradford van after paying the cash over I think I may have some reason to be slightly annoyed.

I think that the general idea when buying a computer is to check the specifications not the picture.
Does anyone buy a computer just from looking at the pictures or do we all look at the technical specs? (i for one don't care what it looks like, only the specs)

If you saw a picture of a ferrari and the specs about it said, 2.4 diesel engine, 8 seater, etc. (or something similar) i think you would start to question the 'type' of ferrari it was.
